Cookie Policy
Cookies and browser storage on this website, explained in a few short sections.

Here glitara explains which entries glitara.net may leave on your device, what each kind is for, how an answer to the cookie notice is kept and how you can change it at any time.
What cookies and similar technologies are
A cookie is a short piece of text that a site leaves in your browser to remember a setting or a choice. Browsers have a comparable local storage area for small entries that stay until they are deleted, and this policy treats both in the same way.
Which cookies this website uses
Only a few entries are needed to run this website, which presents information and contact details rather than an account area or an online shop. Strictly necessary entries keep the pages usable and secure and include any value that remembers a decision about a cookie notice; for them no consent is required under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR).
The server that delivers this website sets one cookie of this kind. It contains only a random value, nothing that identifies you by name, and serves to recognise a returning browser and to protect the site against automated abuse. The cookie is renewed whenever you come back and is deleted 30 days after your last visit.
How your choice is recorded
Where a cookie notice is displayed, the only thing it saves is your answer, agreement or refusal, as one value in the local storage of the browser you are using (localStorage), after which it stays hidden. It appears again in a different browser or on a different device, and wherever storage is blocked.
Tracking, profiling and data protection
There are no advertising or retargeting cookies here and no tracking across websites, and we do not build profiles of visitors. Entries that can be connected to a person count as personal data; the privacy policy of glitara sets out why they are used, how long they are kept and what your rights are.
Changing your choice later
You can change your decision at any time: remove this website's stored data in the settings of your browser and reload a page; the earlier value is then gone and a new answer replaces it when you are next asked. Browsers also let you manage cookies yourself, usually in the privacy area of the settings, where entries can be reviewed, removed or refused, for one site or for all of them.
Storage periods
Some cookies last only until the browser is closed; others are kept for a limited time so that a setting is still known on your next visit. The value saved by a cookie notice has no expiry date and stays in the browser until it is deleted there.
Updates to this policy and questions
We review this policy when the website changes, when functions are added and when legal requirements develop; only the version published here applies, and the date above shows when it was last revised. Questions about it can be sent to glitara at hello@glitara.net, or asked by telephone on 01273 244 063.
