The following notice sets out how personal data is handled on glitara.net under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. It names the responsible company, the data we receive when you use the site or write to us, the purposes of the processing and the rights you can exercise.
1. Who is responsible
This website is run by glitara, 14 Trafalgar Lane, Brighton BN1 4ED, United Kingdom, which decides how the data described on this page is used. Questions about it can be sent to hello@glitara.net or asked by telephone on 01273 244 063; they concern every page under glitara.net and the messages that reach us through it.
This site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly process their data. Parents or guardians who notice that a child has contacted us can ask us at hello@glitara.net to remove the message from our records.
2. Data we collect
When you open a page, our hosting provider records technical data such as your IP address, the requested page, the date and time, the browser type and the referring page. These server logs help us keep the site secure and are deleted after a short period.
When you contact us in writing or by telephone, we process the contact details you provide and the information contained in your enquiry. Where a form is used, only the fields marked as required are needed; any further detail you add is voluntary.
3. Cookies
Only what the pages need in order to work is stored. No advertising networks, no tracking across websites and no visitor profiles are involved, and nothing about your visit is passed on for marketing.
Your browser lets you review what is kept for this website, erase it and prevent it from being stored again. If you block entries that the site needs in order to function, some pages may not display correctly.
4. Your rights
You have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict its processing, to object to processing based on legitimate interests and to receive your data in a portable format. Consent can be withdrawn at any time.
You can use your rights by writing to hello@glitara.net. Before we answer, we may ask for a detail that confirms your identity, so that data is not disclosed to the wrong person; the answer follows within the period the law provides and costs you nothing.
If you believe that we handle your data unlawfully, you may complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), in addition to any other remedy.
5. How long we keep data
We keep personal data only for as long as the purpose it was collected for requires, or longer where record-keeping duties apply. After that it is deleted or changed so that it no longer points to a person.
Technical log entries disappear automatically after a short time. Correspondence is kept while it may still be needed, and records that tax or commercial rules require us to keep are held for the period those rules set.
6. Sharing of data
Personal data is not sold. Only the providers that host this website and run our email see it, and they act on our instructions under a written agreement; public bodies receive it only where we are obliged to disclose it.
Data may be handled by a provider whose servers or support staff are located abroad. We choose providers who commit to protecting it at the level the applicable rules demand for transfers of this kind.
7. Why we process data
The information described here serves a limited set of purposes: running glitara.net without faults, answering your questions, preparing offers or agreements and meeting the duties that come with running a business.
Each use of data has a ground of its own: your consent, a contract or the talks that lead to it, an obligation we have to meet, or our legitimate interest in running this site securely. You are free not to give us details, but without them an answer may not be possible.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the website, our services or the legal requirements change. The version published on this page, carrying the date shown above, is the one that applies to your visit.
Each new version replaces the previous one without a separate notice. Where a change concerns processing that depends on your consent, we obtain fresh consent before it applies.
